The Basic Requirements
Now, before we can run a FACE Photographics
Family Portrait Fundraiser, we need to ensure that
your organisation can accomodate an event like this. The requirements
are simple, but here are the minimums required:
- Space -- the more
the better.
On the day of the photo shoot, we'll be bringing professional
photography equipment, lighting, and a backdrop, and we
still need room to maneuver.
This will require a minimum empty space of 5m
x 7m (15ft x 20ft), with a ceiling height of 3m
(8m). We prefer at least two to three times
that much space, if available.
If we're cramped into the corner of a storage room, families
get hot and uncomfortable, and the photos don't turn out
as well. The best situation is to set us up in a wide-open
empty hall. We'll make do with less, but more space is always
better.
Families
-- the more the better.
We consider a "family" to be two or more
generations (e.g., parents and children or grandparents
and children, etc), and in fact, the $12 family portait
is not available for couples-only, or for
children-only.
So to raise maximum funds, you'll want to sign up as many
families as possible, and let them know about the fantastic
value of our Portrait Packs. We currently require a minimum
of 15 families in order to hold a Portrait Fundraiser.
Families can be a part of your organisation, or can come
from outside, as well. Many coordinators have generated
successful fundraisers by inviting families from the larger
community to come get Family Portraits on the day.
A
Good Coordinator
We'll give you plenty of ideas and suggestions for generating
the most possible interest in your Family Portrait Fundraiser
-- but a good coordinator (you!) makes all the difference
in the world.
When you book your organisation, you'll get a Quick
Guide and an Important Info sheet
to help you through it. It's easy! But the more effort
the coordinator puts in, the better the results.
You'll need to (a) promote the event, (b)
coordinate the sitting times, and (c) be
there to open the space on the day. And
out of these, (a) is the most important! The more you promote,
the more funds you'll raise!
And don't forget, we're here to help. Got a
question? Just ask!
Or go ahead and book
your organisation today!
